  • We don’t often lead our deals posts with mice, but there are juicy rodents to be caught today. The Logitech G903 Lightspeed wireless gaming mouse is one of the swankiest out there thanks to its top-notch sensor, sensible shape and button placement, and high-end wireless capabilities. This mouse usually runs you up quite a pretty penny, but it’s priced at only $74.99 at Best Buy right now. If that’s too rich for your blood or you simply prefer a simpler mouse, the Logitech G703 wireless mouse can be obtained for $54.99 also at Best Buy.

  • Since we’re talking peripherals, might as well hit up the Corsair Strafe MK.2 keyboard with Cherry MX Silent switches. This is one of the highest-end clackers you can get your gerbil mitts right now. It’s a full-sized affair with dedicated media keys, a handy volume roller, per-key RGB LED lighting, and of course, those punchy, quiet MX Silent key switches. The keyboard also comes with a wrist rest, too. The price tag reads $99.99 at Best Buy.

  • We haven’t seen many cheap quality power supplies lately, so it’s with great pleasure that I announce the Corsair Vengeance 750M. This power supply has semi-modular cabling, semi-passive cooling, and an 80 Plus Silver rating for efficiency. You can opt for single- or multi-rail power delivery, and the generously sized fan measures 140 mm across. The asking price is just $59.99 at Newegg with the promo code EMCTBVA36, and there’s a $15 rebate card available that can bring the end-game price to $44.99.

  • Just the other day we had a real affordable pack of RAM, and now it’s even cheaper. The G.Skill Aegis 32 GB dual-channel kit of 3000 MT/s RAM comes clad in simplistic heatsinks and has 16-18-18-38 timings. The price right now is a silly low $109.99 at the ‘egg. Time for that 128 GB virtual machine host build, eh?

  • It’s time for a c-c-c-combo! Here’s a pack that’s handy for new builds and upgrades both. The MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus OC is one of the best samples of a mid-to-high end graphics card right now thanks to its combination of raw speed, low noise, and RTX ray-tracing smarts. It’s accompanied by the Intel 660p 1 TB NVMe solid-state drive, a well-known person around these parts. The drive push sequential data at speeds upt o 1800 MB/s, while its random I/O performance can hit 150K read IOPS and 220K write IOPS. The folks at Newegg will package both items for you for $419.98, or $40 off the regular combined total.

  • Here’s a sweet deal if you’re looking for a gaming laptop that won’t cost you a paw and a leg. The Asus ROG G531GT-BI7N6 is a 15.6″ laptop with thin bezels around the 1920×1080 display and a backlit keyboard. Inside the compact-for-15.6″ chassis sits a latest-gen Core i7-9750H processor (six cores, 12 threads, and a 4.5 GHz turbo). Next to the chip sit 8 GB of RAM and a quite-roomy 512 GB NVMe solid-state drive. Pixel-pushing prowess comes by way of a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card with 4 GB of VRAM. The price for all this hardware is (drum roll) only $799.99 at Best Buy.

That’s all for today, folks! There’s a chance you’re looking for something we haven’t covered. Question & Answers (21)

Have a question? Our panel of experts will answer your queries. Post my Question
  1. I picked up one of those Corsair K70s last night–my current keyboard was wearing out.

Best Buy has the K95 Platinum for $139.99, which is a $60 discount from the usual price. The K95 has 6 extra dedicated macro keys. I dunno if that’s worth an extra $40, or if there are any other features it has.

  2. My guess is that it’s the keycaps that made my QuickFire pitched. Prior to it dying I was thinking about some new caps. All the paint had worn off of the commonly-used keys. Even though I don’t need labels, it looks awful. 😆

  3. I want Logitech to sell me a G500 with the original pattern, but no fading, and microswitches that don’t die. Love that mouse, they just needed to rebuild a couple things to make it perfect.

  4. I got the HyperX Alloy FPS (brown switches) for work. No high pitch for me. A very nice board for what seems to be the standard step-above-bargain-end price of $79.99 at amazon.

  5. Advice (while they last) for people considering the Intel 660p SSD.

    HP EX920 M.2 NVMe x4 1TB SSD, $104.99
[url<]https://www.newegg.com/hp-ex920-1tb/p/N82E16820326778?Description=hp%20ex920%201tb&cm_re=hp_ex920_1tb-_-20-326-778-_-Product[/url<] Uses TLC instead of QLC. Uses the Silicon Motion SM2262 (rebadged with an HP heatspreader) controller. Has DRAM cache. Being replaced by the new-and-improved HP EX950, but that costs about fifty bones more. Meanwhile, this drive kicks the crap out of the 660p, has a three year warranty, and you're not paying the price premium of Samsung or WD Black (though it's slightly slower). I just bought two for my main rig to replace Samsung 850 Pro drives which are lovely, but far slower in comparison.

  6. My 9-year-old (had to look through my newegg purchase history to figure that one out) Cooler Master QuickFire XT finally gave out, so I got the Strafe with in-store pickup last night. And by gave out, I mean Windows no longer recognizes it. There’s nothing physically wrong with the connector, but it’s dead, Jim. Seems like a long time for a keyboard that gets used 50+ hours a week between work and gaming.

Anyway, I think my favorite feature is that it has the Windows key on both sides of the space bar. I hit Win+R quite a bit, because it’s the fastest way to launch Paint and Notepad. (I use the key on the right-side to do that because when I learned to type in high school I was taught that modifiers should be done with one hand and the letter with the other.) So many keyboards replace that key with a “function” key to access media functions. Corsair didn’t do that with the Strafe.

To me it’s not THAT much quieter than the MX Brown switches on my old keyboard with O-rings installed, but the sound is very different and more pleasant because it’s not so high-pitched. They key caps are much higher quality, too. The two observations are probably related. You can turn off the RGB if you want by pressing the brightness key a couple times to cycle through some pre-programmed brightness levels. I’ve had the Strafe for only 16 hours but I’m very pleased.

  7. I have a couple of Logitech G903s at home. Why a couple? The battery life sucks so much that I swap between the fully charged ones and the empty ones. You’d be a fool to buy this now as the new version (G903 HERO) is coming out shortly, which has six times (6x!) the battery life of the original G903. This is the reason for the fire sale.

Secondly these will be paperweights soon enough as the switches are so cheap they start double clicking after a few months of usage. Read the Amazon reviews. I changed the switches out myself.

  8. Canadians: Newegg Canada’s ebay page has a coupon for 10% off up to a maximum of $50 off with coupon code PWRUP

    [url<]http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/706-53473-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5335823041&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ca%2Fe%2Fsales-events%2Fpwrup[/url<]

  9. I want Logitech to sell me a G903 with fewer buttons and a scroll wheel I can use to middle click.

  10. Last I heard, Seasonic was in fact the OEM for Corsair, but that info may be outdated.

  11. The replies to your comment are now the Unofficial Steam Summer Sale writeup!

[i<]Zombie Army 4's[/i<] was announced as a beefed up coop experience from Rebellion, the [i<]Sniper Elite[/i<] developer. You can pick up [i<]Zombie Army Trilogy[/i<] to catch up on the series for $8.99. RPGs more your thing? [i<]Finaal Fantasy XV[/i<] is down to $24.99, you can pick up [i<]Dark Souls Remastered[/i<] for $23.99, and [i<]The Witcher 3[/i<] is currently $11.99 (GOTY $14.99).

  12. All the games I had in my shopping cart have gone on sale. Dammit, that means I have to buy them now.

  13. I’d be more worried about an “accidental fire” in a factory somewhere.

  14. I got the PSU (thanks). It may be the first I’ve bought in a long time that isn’t a Seasonic, or does Seasonic still provide Corsair?

  15. “Time for that 128 GB virtual machine host build, eh?”

-sadly, still about a year away for that.

From what I’ve read the industry seems to think DDR4 is going to hit its low in a few months.. though it’s difficult to see how much lower it could go then that. Last “low” I saw on 16 gig sticks was about 2 1/2 years ago, and even then it wasn’t as low as this price.

I wonder if the latest Ryzen release will increase prices of larger capacity DDR4 (..from increased demand), and alter that industry price-expectation?

  16. Portal 2 = $1
    Dishonored = $3.30

If you haven’t played those games, you’d be a fool not to buy them for that price.

  17. We might make a separate post for that at some point. Valve doesn’t do referrals.
